Hi folks, would really appreciate some information that I can't find anywhere online.
I study an MA two days per fortnight. My job is seriously at risk of compulsory redundancy but we have been offered voluntary at a better rate---- but I have to take it today.
I know if I took up a part time course after being made redundant I can claim jobseekers benefit (I am eligible) but will they accept me as a jobseeker when I am already studying? I have three kids I am petrified of being ineligible for any state support.

The key is are you available and looking for full time work? You've been studying whilst working full time so I can't see there being any problem. Get a letter off the college confirming your usual attendance.

Thanks, I can get all the documentation and I will be looking for work. It's just such a grey area and I cant find any definitive details so its making his a very hard decision to make.
If anyone has been through this I would really appreciate hearing about it.
