Use the two DVI sockets on the back of your GPU!
Then go to your Control Panel,
    select "Display"
    select "Change Display Settings"
choose the appropriate resolution for your TV (Monitor 2) AND apply

Only have 1 HDMI on GPU I'm afraid!

This is how it is for each device:

    GPU:
    1. HDMI
    2. DVI-I
    3. DVI-D
    4. Display nPort

    Mobo:
    1. HDMI
    2. DVI-D
    3. VGA (15 pin)
    4. Bunch of Audio options

    TV:
    1. 2 X HDMI
    2. HDMI/DVI
    3. Yellow/White/Red/Green/Blue options
    4. VGA

    PC Monitor:
    1. HDMI
    2. DVI-D
    3. VGA

Got it working there initially but it kind of struggled then after two minutes and I had to restart the computer. No sound was being emitted from the TV either.

To be honest, I think it is just a case of trial and error at this stage. Thanks for your help!

Your Gpu has two Dvi outputs.
Use dvi-d socket to your monitor and the other dvi-I socket for your tv.
