LoOking to change car, currently have an st focus but cant justify keeping it as i now cycle to work. So want to get rid and buy something cheap to run, tax and insure as I'll only be doing very little mileage.

I want a very max of a 1.5, and for it to be a bit sporty or different and have a decent soundsystem. Don't want to spend more than 2k. Have considered the alfa 156, mazda 323f 1997 version, older colts and puntos. Is there anything else i should look at?

Thought about getting a cheap rx8 but iwant concerning cheap to run!

    another job for a glanza.

a very cheap car to run.
easy on fuel, should do 40+mpg driven handy
    cheap tax, €385
if you've previously insured an st focus, it shouldn't be an issue on this
very nippy, 135bhp in 900kgs, does 0-60 in 7 seconds
great spec, elec windows, power fold mirrors, remote central locking, a/c
    extremely reliable

downside's are; at this stage a rather skanger image and if it doesn't have an alarm and you live anywhere populated it stands a fair likelihood of being robbed.

i think they look good too, but that's a matter of opinion. you can also be sure that if you keep it in reasonable condition, you'l definitely get most, if not all of your money back on it when it comes time to part ways.

this one looks stock, aside from the alloys.

Smallest alfa 156 is a 1.6. Do you have kids?? MX5 is the most fun you'll have in a small car, only 2 seats though. again it's a 1.6.

The glanza is not for me. I'm a mid thirties bloke and just don't think the glanza is for me. I live in dublin to so don't want the hassle of it being broken into every weekend.

Mx5 is fun but won't pick one up that cheap.

MX5 is a great choice, should be doable at this price!

Best time of the year to buy a rag top too.

If I can fit into one, I'm 6 foot 4, and I can put it on the wife's policy as a vintage, I may go with the mx5
