Your general dentist can do most root canal treatments, if its a difficult one then there are dentists called endodontists who specialist in difficult root canal treatments.

For me a root canal is "foundation" work and need to be good if the tooth is going to be retained long term.

+1 on this. My one and only root canal will be celebrating its 10th birthday next march.

Hi, I went to get root canal treatment this week, but after lots of shots I could not numb, first time ever, Dentist said its cause of the infection, but I have been on antibiotics twice for this, the question is I am back for the second attempt next week, will it work ?

You might have been better asking the dentist that at the time - who determined that it wasn't numbing?

I think I replied to you in another thread but for completion sake will do again , this type of issue can happen every now and again , I now have to use a bt of jargon sorry - but ask your dentist if he can do intraosseous anaesthetic , it is given right on the roots with no associated lip or tongue numbness and is especially meant for a "hot" tooth like what you are describing

You will have to ask the chap :) I wouldn't be able to say what technique he will use for you
