Thought I'd post thread on Tuesday lamping. Got text off noeleire saying he was free for the night so we headed up for few foxes with his new tikka .243 and his new lamp and caller- lockvogel
So first field showed two sets of eyes so put on the rabbit and they started to drift away from us figured they've been lamped before but they didn't stray to far so we followed for ten mins and eventually came close enough to one who was interested in the call but wouldn't budge. Unfortunately shot was missed. So while I was there I shown the light across 3 fields and seen another two sets so we walked towards them and I pt the light out and one was still there. He was behind small forestry so I knew there was a clearing to my left and if he was going to come he'd show there. Rabbit call and he stormed towards us. He ended up 30 yards before I shouted at him and he stopped and was dropped on the spot. Nice dog fox.

Carried on down further and out light out and 60 yards or so fox just sitting in field. I was up to take him but I missed him. Shot too high I reckon as I pulled trigger instead of squeezing. Lesson learned.
Field directly beside it and I put out the light and in 2 fields below another 2 sets of eyes so rabbit call was put on and they ran away so switched to vixen call and they both turned and headed for us. Took em 5 mins to arrive and one popped up In the open.
She was dropped at about 70 yards by noel.
    Nice vixen

As I went to retrieve her the other fox was running away along the ditch so both had come to the call.
Both shot by noel. Altogether came across 7 sets of eyes with two being dropped. Not bad for hours work
