Looking for a prepay phone €500 budget and ideally with 4G

I say ideally since I'm curious if 4G would actually make things that much faster of it upgrading the phone is all it takes.

The phone I've got now is Xperia J. It's fine so far, albeit slow. Except it's far too awkward to read comics on. Till now I've used a tablet but would need something on the go. I also have no idea what screen size is best for it since the tablet is a 10 inch one.

No preference for the carrier so long as there's unlimited data. Which I assume will come from a plan.

I plan to play games on it too. But other than that not much is needed.

Yeah because games aren't demanding at all /s

Games are the most demanding thing you can do on a device, and depending which mobile games you are playing, will depend on what kind of device people should recommend.

Also I wouldn't assume unlimited data on plans. There will be limits in the T&C when you see Unlimited* data. * refers to any limit they feel is "fair use".

A second hand, previous gen flagship, on adverts should do you though.

I'm currently waiting for mine to dispatch. I hope to have it early next week.

It has to be in store. I actually want to get a feel for the size.
I looking at an S4 on three. It says it's 4G. And it seems fine. It seems to be able to do what I want (I checked vidoes of it running what I want). And it's only 429.

The only thing I'm worried about is my wireless speed. That'd be definitely one of the reasons I want to upgrade. When I have javascript enabled (on here for example), it'll take 3 seconds at least to load a page even if I'm next to the modem/router (it's a combo one). And I normally get at least 6MB/s upstairs on a wifi adapter for my PC. Would that be a fault of my phone or just phones are that slow?

The S4 is pretty old at this stage so i definitely wouldn't recommend it, especially at that price, btw it's 369.99 from o2, link, you can get the unlock code off ebay if needed. (Theres also 20% off that price for Online Upgrades)

If your willing to spend 500e then you'd be better off getting something newer like the One M8, S5 or Xperia Z3, if you want something smaller then that Xperia Z3 Compact.

As advised above though the best value is online, OnePlus One for 350e or the LG G3 can be got for around 400e.

    Z3 compact is too small.
Good eye on the cheaper o2 price, thanks.
I'd need at least a 5 inch one I think. But I can't get it online. I want to get a feel for it first.
Those phones you suggested seem more than 500 euro.

I'd rather not go as high as 500 but I can if needed. Hence why I saw what the S4 can do on YT and thought it was fine.

ok, very limited with the shops as prices are a lot higher, the S4 will be 2 years old in March so i personally wouldn't spend that much money on something that old.

I had another look at the shops sites and the Xperia Z2 seems to be the best priced of phones released this year better spec and definetly worth the 30e more than the S4, 399.99 from Vodafone.

The Xperia Z3 Compact is 4G, has 16gb storage and is expandable, has the the bets camera on the market, is dust and waterproof, has the same processor as the One M8, S5 and the fullsized Z3. It's a flagship phone in a smaller package.

If you're looking to buy instore it's a total no brainer for me. €479 on three, maybe cheaper from other retailers.

Ended up with an HTC m8
549 I think. Expensive as Hell and but blazing fast coming from an Xperia J. Thank you all for the recommendations .
