What is the cheapest way to get the luas from balally to charlemont round-trip 5 days a week? With the occasional trip into stevens green.

Thanks for reading and any advice.

OK, Balally to Charlemont is 2 zones, and Balally to St Stephen's Green is 3 zones.

Here are the various fare/ticketing options:

    CASH:
    2 zones: €2.20 single / €4 return
    3 zones: €2.60 single / €4.80 return

    LEAP:
    Peak (07:45-09:30):
    2 zones: €1.75 single
    3 zones: €2.08 single

    LEAP:
    (Off-peak)
    2 zones: €1.70 single
    3 zones: €2.03 single

Return fares on LEAP - add the appropriate single fares together depending upon time of travel

There is a weekly LEAP Cap on LUAS which runs from Monday to Sunday of €23.50, and a daily cap of €6.40.

    Weekly Tickets:
    2 Zones: €17.50
    3 Zones: €21.30

    30 Day Tickets:
    2 Zones: €70
    3 Zones: €84

You can also get tickets through the Taxsaver scheme if your employer participates (see www.taxsaver.ie) which allows you to reduce the cost of your ticket by the rate of tax, PRSI and USC that you pay.

    Monthly LUAS Green 1-Green 3 - €85 Gross
    Annual LUAS Green 1-Green 3 - €850 Gross

If you were to travel from Dundrum ,it's only one zone
and so 14.40 per week on leap

    and if you got a 30 day 1 zone, that'd be 58.50 or 9.75 a week.

Then you would pay the leap fare for the trips to the city centre.

This would only work if you were the relatively close to the Dundrum side of Ballealy stop.
