Kitchen lean to freezing

So took a temperature check in my kitchen last night - went down to single figures internally. 15 degrees in there this morning with a huge radson rad going full tilt.

Always been cold in there. Kitchen is L-shaped with the bottom of the L in a lean to pitched roof rest of the kitchen is directly under the 1st floor. It's cavity block construction, dry lined internally. Not too sure of insulation above ceiling but assuming absent or minimal at best.

Would like to reline the walls internally - remove plasterboard, retain studs and perhaps rock wool if it's decent and reline in a high u-value king span insulated board or similar. Ceiling like wise - remove ceiling, insulate between rafters and reslab ceiling. Area about 10 sq m - so not huge. My only concern is about finishing the boards - will be butting them together and filling with gyproc approved skim. So will have to deal with corner taping, ceiling / wall joints etc. did a small bit in a bathroom a few years ago but was tiling over - so more forgiving.

Relatively handy at the diy but this would be a big job for me - doable or leave to pros? Have also considered having the ceiling pumped with beads to eliminate that bit of work.

If you're handy, do all the stripping / insulated boarding yourself and pay a plasterer €150 to skim. Problem solved ;)

Make sure to use the thickest insulated boards you can especially on the ceilings. had a similar problem and was through the roof was most of heat loss was. 150 mm Rockwool between rafters and 62 mm board on top. Tough job on ceiling DIY as those are heavy.

Wouldn't go with the beads, maybe the expanding foam stuff might be worth a look.

Was it a success? Noticeable difference in terms of heat loss?

I done a similar job with our Bathroom. I was doing a complete rebuild and fit out on the Bathroom. I pulled the old ceiling down filled in between the joists with fiberglass. Then I slabbed over with 62mm insulated plaster Boards. Turned out a great job. You can feel the difference when you go in the Bathroom compared to other rooms. I'm going to do the same in the Hall next year.
