    Hi There,

My friend travelled on the Luas yesterday from Dundrum to st. Stephens Green. He had earlier bought a ticket from heuston to jervis, and, being a typical Irish Culchie never bought a second ticket forgetting the difference between lines. He was stopped at Cowper and asked for his ticket and given the €45 fine. The man asked for his age and he told him he was 15, even though he's 18. He was told to appeal the fine and he Wouldn't have to pay the fine... How accurate is this though? How should he proceed with his appeal?

    Thanks for your help!

Even if it was one line hwo would a ticket between Heuston and Jervis be in any way valid between Dundrum and Stephens Green? There is a good price difference alone.

I'd suggest he signs up to Boards himself so we can get more details from him.

No ticket=fine. Don't see how an appeal will fix this. I'd just pay the 45 quid.

Maybe you should just pay it and get a ticket next time...

On what grounds would he appeal the fine? I imagine he was told he could appeal the fine if he wants to within a particular timeframe. He is free to appeal but he doesn't have a case
A single ticket only covers you for one unbroken journey so he didn't have a valid ticket for his second journey. Did he lie about his age because he had a child ticket? I don't see how he could appeal without having to give his real details which would mean he has even less chance of appeal

He should consider investing in a leap card so he doesn't have such issues in the future

I got a ticket today but I lost my fine sheet, how can I find my reference number so I can pay the fine?
