Just got an istick yesterday well impressed its living up to all i've been hearing bout it.One question tho vaping from 13watts down its working great 14watts and up keep getting burnt taste could it be too powerful for the coils i'm using there reading 1.5ohm on the device (kanger bdc new and old versions)?

The one 'flaw' to the device, as has been reviewed by several 'big names' in the vaping world is that it seems to deliver more power than the display indicates. I too have burnt out my wicks. I stuck a Kayfun at 1.1 ohms at 14w and almost immediately vaporised the wick, it was completely gone.
Now its set to around 8w and vaping fine. 8w! Its the lowest I'm using on any of my devices. Incidentally I'm getting about 4 days out of the battery too (I rotate my vapes constantly).
Start low and build up slowly to find your 'zone' is the prevailing advice.

I unwittingly burnt through a wick too. Since then I'm running it well below what I would normally be running. 5.5w on a 1.9ohm micro coil for example and is still plenty for me.

Follow Didihno's advice, dial it down and increase it in short increments until you find your sweet spot.

Great, little device. It's the only thing I use now.

I'm vaping mini nautilus's on mine with 1.7 & 1.9 coils at 10w to 11w,varies with different juices.Higher Watts will give you a burnt taste.

Yeah, I dont like to go over 8 watts on mine but find that gives plenty of vapour and a good th.

I have a connection issue with the 510 but that aside its excellent and good value.

Thumbs up from me good value, looks great i've got the silver one, although it does burn my coils out at 15watts up no matter vaping lower down is excellent loads of vapour and flavour sitting in a cloud of vapour now at 9watts! Pocket rocket:-D

Getting on great with mine with kayfun. All I've been using since I got it a couple of weeks ago. Battery life is phenomenal

I run it at 10.5W with my Nautilus mini, BVC coils at 1.6 Ohm

Haven't had burning yet and the coils lasting 2 weeks

I'm starting week 4 with the same coil. Nautilus BVC 1.6
Istick set at 8W, loving it, best device ever.

The force is strong with this one, too strong!

I've just started building coils and I've been happily rebuilding the PT2 mini with cotton making 2.4 ohm coils.

On the lowest setting on the iStick I'm constantly teetering on the edge of a burnt hit. I'm wondering would I have better luck @ 2.8-3.0ohm. It's perfect with my MVP running 2.4 ohm coils. 7 watts and 3.7v

I have the iStick running on 3.7w or 3v and I can sense that a dry hit is creeping in on every draw. Bugger!

    Edit

Wick adjustment did the job, I could thread it pretty tight and have no wicking issues on the MVP but not with the iStick and the lowest settings. I rewicked the coil a little loose and shortened the ends so that the juice had better flow and it seems much improved, still, I'll be wrapping a few higher ohm coils to deal with the higher output.

i had the same problem, i solved it by putting insulating tape on the top of the istick (2 small pieces stuck together on both sides of the connection, it needs the double thickness to get the connection to read correctly), it either aligned the kanger tank or shortened the leg, i think the kanger may have been pushing down too hard on the istick connection plate ?
