    Hello folks,

    How do I work out quantity of sand/cement needed?

    Thanks

    100x0.075=7.5cum
    1 cumetre takes 2tonne +of gravel/sand
    Thats 16 tonne +. Lorry can carry upto 22 tonne
    10×25kg cement per cu mt× 7.5= 75 bags.
    80 bags on 2 tonne pallet.
    This is a ratio I use for concrete mixed using a pan mixer driven off tractor. Turns out a fine strong wall or slab. Wouldnt be up to speed on small mixers but it gives you an idea on whats needed. Someone else might throw more light on the subject.
    A few questions
    1. Whats the screed for?
    2. Is it specifically sand you're using or gravel?
    3. What type of mixer will be used?
    To be quite honest that quantity would be better off delivered as readymix. Would work out cheaper. Gravel is €17 /tonne at a guess. Cement is 5.50/ bag approx.
