    It's the Enterprise!

209 has been released to traffic following its body overhaul and repainting into a new and unfinished version of "Enterprise" livery, along with renumbering to 8209 to fit in with the NI Railways four digit system. It was pictured at Portarlington working the 0935 North Wall - Ballina IWT Liner.

Looks well but doubt will stay silver for long! I like the curved yellow front!

What is left to add to the livery? Presumably a new logo reserved for launch day?

The size of the font used for the numbers, and thankfully the UIC is not splashed all over it if it even got one painted on. The livery is unusual in that the strip only goes down to the no.2 cab end to blend in with the Enterprise rolling stock and stops before it gets to the no.1 cab. So I assume the strip will stop short of the cab on the DVT.

Aye, you will notice the no. 1 end cab has all silver. This end always faces the outside of the train.
I do understand that the dreaded EVN will be applied in due course :(

A friend of mine got me two clips of it on the down and up liners.

The silver paints of today are light years ahead of what CIE had in the 1950s, coupled with the fact the 201s do not vomit oil, fuel and go on fire like the Metro-Camels did.
