I need to replace the grate in a fire,

the fire was cover by an electric one the last few years and i'm not sure what type of grate goes in it.

Anyone got any idea what type of grate goes in this fire?

Take out your measuring tape measure the width and depth of you fireplace that will tell you the size you want

Hedgecutter, that looks like a back boiler so I would make sure it is safe to light a fire.

Is it as simple as that?
14"wX 11"d are my sizes. I was worried about the metal up rights at the front of the fire, are they standard?

YA it is. central heating was on so I could feel that back boiler was hot. water seems to be in it but ill investigate more.

Its a Firebird back boiler so it needs a Firebird grate, not a standard grate on legs.
Check in your local plumbing supplys. Not a DIY chainstores.
Get a plumber to check that the pump is ok, highly likely it would need replacing + its a safety check by somebody who knows.
I've seen the aftermath of two explosions from back boilers.
