need some trailer for getting materials such as lengths of timber, metal etc. again wont be used fierce often. had to get shoots lately and they only came in 20ft lengths, same wanted to get 2x1 box iron and that was coming in 24ft lengths.

now I could go the Hudson trailer which has handy for the jeep and long journeys + will probably find other uses for it

or I could go for some sort of bale trailer but it would mean I would need the tractor to pull it. its about 5-10 miles away for local timber store/coop etc. bale trailer again could be handy for drawing bales.

if ye wanted to draw a 20ft length of something home, what do ye use?

Have a 14ft cowbox. Brought a 24ft length of box in it last week, left in over the ramp and tied to the side of the box.

I personnally would go for the bale trailer.....The Hudson trailer you will need a trailer licence which I do have but weight restrictions will be a bigger issue as not too many jeeps are legal to tow more than 3 tonne which leaves about 1.5 tonne pay load

i know but its handy to have it when you need it straight away. even if i wanted to buy a single length of something and wanted it straight away i would have the means to get it.

That's very dangerous. You should always use the wife's left arm.

A few bit of baling twine. If not going far rest it on the passenger side mirror and tie it on to the door hinges. Just be careful of pedestrians. great way to carry 20' lenghts of ducting/sewerpipe

Jeep trailer can carry a few bales and will be handier for long journeys to pick up smaller stuff
TBH both are expensive ways of getting the odd length of something home . Will you need a bale trailer more than a builders trailer really

could you buy a 14ft demountable livestock trailer? Lift the box off and put on sides

you have a single trailer with 2 purposes

same for a larger trailer also? bale trailer, take off the front and rear rack and install a RO-RO cattle box.

Bale trailer if it's gona be carrying lengths of lighter steel, nothing worse than landing back with a few lengths of angle and its bowed from one end to the other from bouncing on the rack of a short trailer

Ah they're nice people up that way they'd love to see you coming. If you got the pipe down the co-op you could pick up a few bags of 10-10-20 when you were there too.
