I ordered something from eBay Germany. The seller had to be reassured he had my full address but eventually sent the dispatch notification and provided tracking details on the DHL.de website.

Now the problem is it says it was delivered Friday. However as of today I have nothing! There's another tracking number provided for the An Post website but it doesn't show on the system.

I contacted DHL who told me to contact An Post who told me to contact the seller who told me to contact An Post!!!

I have no clue what is going on!! Advice appreciated folks! :)

The second tracking number RM401484853DE looks like a Royal Mail Signed For number. It may have been passed to Royal Mail UK by DHL on Friday (their "delivered" date) and will take a few days more to get to you

You're right mate...the "RM" should really have been a clue....but how the hell did they get involved?!?! The sender must have ended up putting the wrong address even though I paid by PayPal where it would have been on the receipt, eBay would have sent it to him and I also messaged him the address...fcuk's sake!

Ah the seller got back to me. Apparently since it was a rechargeable battery for my portable printer transport of such goods is prohibited. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuckkkk!

Guess you're just unlucky that it didn't get through. I've had deliveries of Li-ion batteries for both a phone and camera in the last week without any problem. Just make sure you get your refund!!

I wonder how they knew....he must have put it on the parcel as I doubt customs would open something coming from Germany.

Responsible shippers would fill out a declaration form and attach labels stating that it contained a lithium battery etc, lots of people don't though.

No problem with batteries if item is being sent by road - so if sender is using dpd / gls or other road service, you have no issues.

If using airmail or dhl and don't buy the "special service" (expensive) then it can't be shipped.
