My daughter (9) has started a channel on youtube. She's thoroughly enjoying the whole process, she records them herself & I'm showing her how to edit & then I upload them. She's got three videos done, two published with the third to go live this week.

She's after picking up 21 subscribers in a week but I want to know how to get more for her. Does anyone have any experience ?

There are a few tips here. She can also let her friends know at school etc.
    But
    1. subscribers will increase as she makes more vids, it's not an "instantly famous" thing. Nor should it be at that age.
    2. monitor the comments, kids can be pretty cruel to each other on the net.
    3. watch vids from other popular young vloggers. Take what is good from their vids and work with that.

Thanks for that Biko. She's telling her friends but her channel doesn't come up immediately (very common name), some who's parents would be connected on Facebook have seen it.

I have comments set to pending, nothing bad yet, but I'm sure it'll come.

I need to take a look around to see what others are doing. She has over 300 views now from as far afield as the USA (second largest), Kuwait, Australia, Singapore, Finland etc. So there's more than locals finding her.

I personally have a channel with a little over 20 K subscribers. Here are my personal optimization tips:

    1. When you upload a video, choose a thumbnail that will make people click on it more.
    2. Tag your videos properly so that it shows up when people search on Youtube.
    3. Shoot quality videos. People get turned off with low quality stuff.
    4. Respond to people comments. Make then know that you care. Interact with them.
    5. Promote your videos on social medias sites like Facebook and twitter.

The idea here is to optimize your channel for maximum no. of views. This will in turn have an increase in subscribers to your channel.

I hope you have the comments set to be approved before showing under the video op so that you get to filter them. Sad to say but as any channel grows it can attract negative attention and if your daughter saw it it may discourage her so you could remove that possibility.

If you do a lot of research and browsing of site, forums, blogs, social media etc. relative to whatever niche she's in then you could try to get the ball rolling by consistently sharing her content on them. Like the last post said as well, YouTube titles, thumbnails and tags are all very important in attracting clicks and of course nowadays it's very important to have AT LEAST 720p resolution as an option. Regarding tags as well, only use any single word once rather than multiple variations of it but be sure to have as many relative tags as possible without using ones that could count as misleading. Showing up on search engines is also very important.

Regularity is a good way to build a following. If you're posting videos once a week, every week (or more often) then people will keep coming back. If you're posting at random times at irregular intervals it might be harder to build an audience. So maybe pick a time on a certain day and schedule videos to go up around then.

It might also be worth sticking a link to the channel in your signature if that's a route you're comfortable with going down. I found when I was writing a blog regularly I'd get a reasonable amount of traffic through the link I had in my sig.

You can increase user engagement just using stand out thumbnail. It is the trick that can increase your subscriber two times more.

If you have good video that people like to watch, then email marketing is best idea to merge with Youtube marketing.

You could try joining a youtube video exchange network. With this kind of network, when you watch videos, you get credit which can then be used in return to buy videos view.
You could also buy the credit without having to watch videos.
