    Hi dorito92,

Thanks for your interest in switching to Electric Ireland.

Dual Fuel ValueSaver NightSaver is a plan that can only be switched to over the phone. If you ring our Sales agents on 1850 30 50 90, they will be able to assist you. That telephone line is open until 8pm Monday to Friday, and is open until 6pm Saturdays.
The details the Sales team will require from you are your electricity meter point reference number (MPRN), GPRN (gas), up-to-date meter-readings, and your bank details for setting up direct debit.

    Kind regards,
    Una

are the latest meter readings necessary because we just moved into this house and can't access the meters

    Hi again dorito92,

The meter-readings are required as the point from which to bill. If there is no option but to carry out the switch with estimates rather than readings, the bills will not be accurate until meter-readings are submitted. There is a risk also that the gas switch may not go through.

We can send a generic meter-key free of charge if it is just the meter-box door you cannot open. If the meters are in a locked shed/cupboard, access for these would need to be sought (e.g. via management company).

    Regards,
    Una
