Just want folks views on this, damage a part on my bike but its only a scratch but since bike was new decided to order a replacement part as kinda anal about a mark on the carbon, pay for part but it never arrives from supplier so leave it with bike shop and eventually they decide to swap it from another bike in the shop (brand new) so my question is should I have got my old part back as paid for the new one or just leave it. It cost me €125 for the replacement part. Old scruffed part now on the bike on display in shop and to be honest you would not spot it straight away

If you paid full price, ie there was no trade in allowance for your bit then you should have had yours back as a spare, is it possible that the shop is using yours to display the new bike but will swap in the new bit when it arrives and then give you back yours?

No harm to give them a shout for clarification.

Possibly, going to call back in to them and see what they say, just thought that they might have said it to me but I was in such a rush I didn't think to ask, bike shop has been very good to me just found this bit strange as the part is still usable and I was thinking of flogging it on EBay to recoup a few €'s
