An hour after flying an Aer Lingus regional flight into Shannon, a pilot collapsed and died at the wheel of his car while driving home to Mallow, an inquest heard.

I remember a post about that actually a good while back. It was really tragic, but fortunate it didn't happen at the controls of a plane full of passengers.

It was a tragic case but that's why there are two pilots. The sad truth, as someone pointed out to me once, is that the medical only proves you were healthy on the day it took place.
