Any one lnow if that is possible.

Just reading up on the garmin virb. It can record ant information but does that mean your head unit won't?

Yes, definitely has worked for me with a footpod and hrm on two watches. It's not like Bluetooth. The ant + accessories just broadcast their data regardless and any previously linked device will pick up the data.

Might pick up the virb so. Going cheap in the states and my brother in law is coming back on the 19th

The Virb is at a good price now that the Elite version is out. It is pretty heavy though by all accounts. Had a look myself and have decided that the basic GoPro Hero would suit me better. You can still use the Virb software to overlay your gpx data from an edge 500 for example if you are using it for sportives ( cameras are banned in races) or training. For commuting, the Virb is supposed to be very heavy on a helmet.
Halfords have a discount on cycling related stuff if you order and reserve online before tomorrow.
The k edge pro bar mounts are supposed to be excellent for the GoPro whereas the Virb seems to require adaptors to use any mount other than garmins.

I have used my edge 500 at the same time as using the ant+ stick on my laptop for trainer road with no issues whatsoever.

I can get the virb plus bike mount for €100. My weight will have a bigger bearing than anything else so wouldn't be to worried about that.

I'd be using mainly for solo stuff
