Recommending a Good Garage . . .

    Hi All:

This is not a "commercial post" by anyone with an interest in the business - just a happy customer.

I feel as I have had very bad luck / difficult time with finding a decent, reliable garage . . .

I drive an '02 Skoda Octavia and, thankfully, haven't had to be to the garage too often but if you were to ask me to recommend a garage I would probably be hard pressed to do so . . .

That is until quite recently . . .

I was on the <snip>, September when I had a puncture. I have no difficulty whatsoever changing a car wheel but, on this occasion, the alloy wheel was absolutely "glued" onto the hub and no amount of knocking and banging would move it. . .

I called into a Tyre Place . . .I don't have the name here and when I look on Google Maps Street View it looks like they weren't there when the Google Van passed.

    It's right next to <snip>. . . It is called something like "<snip>" or something. . .

They got my wheel off and sold me a new tyre. In the process of the change he showed me that the "wishbone" bearings were gone . . They did those and the tracking for me for, what I felt, was a very reasonable price - €140.

They are 2-3 Polish Guys and I am seriously, seriously impressed by their professionalism etc.

I know nothing really about cars and it is very easy "put one over on me" but I am really delighted I made contact with these guys . . .

Here's why I am writing this - I am not a complainer - I would be more of the silent "brooder" who votes with his feet . . .Mediocre service I will accept and probably keeping back. Great service is more than somebody just doing their job - it's them put a big personal effort into the job, large or small, to impress. I wish I saw more of this - when I do I tell everybody . . .

If you are struggling to find a Garage - call to them - they're great . .

    Kind Regards

    Gordon

P.S. Honestly, this is not, in any way, a commercial "stitch up" - great, great service

I'm happy it worked out for you but I'm removing the names. However, do feel free to recommend them should anyone ask for help in that area.

Gordon might be good if you say where in the country you are as that way if someone is in need of a mechanic they can PM you. Delighted you had a good experience. boards and the internet in general are full of peoples bad experience and your attitude is somewhat refreshing.
