2013 MAC Mini trouble booting

I'm having trouble with a Mac Mini purchased Nov 2013. A couple of days ago I powered it up it hung at a white screen. It plays the startup sound and just a white screen.

I did an NVRAM reset but it didn't help and when I hold Command/ALT it only give me an option to connect to a network and then run Internet Recovery.

Disk Utility was only showing a single disk about 2GBs in size and not the fixed 500GB that's installed. Based on this I replaced the drive but the new one wasn't detected either.

I put the original disk in a caddy and connected it to a laptop and it's fine all the partitions are showing so I replaced it in the Mini but had the same result. I then booted the Mini from a GParted usb key and it could see the disk and partitions so I rebooted and the Mini booted to MAC OS and if I reboot and hold Command I see all the Startup options - MAC/Windows/Recovery.

However if I power down the Mini I'm back to square one and need to boot to Gparted first, scan the disks and reboot to get the Mini to start.

I've used Disk Utility to scan and verify the drive but it reports everything as ok. I configure the startup disk to Mac and the Windows Bootcamp but it makes no odds once powered off I need to repeat the Gparted partition scan to get it to boot so I'm stumped as what to do next.

I'm running Win 10 tech preview on the second partition with Bootcamp could it of messed something up with the EFI partition? If so why would it boot after being scanned by Gparted?

Any ideas what to do next?

Got it sorted but it took a reinstall.
