    1. What is your budget?

    Approximately €800

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer?

Gaming, hopefully running games like Dragon age Inqusition, Assassins Creed, Shadow of Mordor

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows?

Yes, but I'm not including Windows in the €860 budget

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer?

    No I can't

    5. Do you need a monitor?

Yes, I might possibly want 2 monitors just to be able to multitask at times. The monitors also don't have to be included in the budget

5a. If yes, what size do you need.

I'm not too picky about size

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals?

Yes I will need everything, but as with Windows and the monitor I'm willing to spend extra on these.

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking?

    No I'm not

    8. How can you pay?

    Visa

    9. When are you purchasing?

    As soon as possible is

So basically the main aim of building the PC is to game. Previously I've just been a console gamer and while I have been reading guides, I don't have any experience and I want to get the best build for my money. Any helps, advice and tips will be greatly appreciated!

So I've done up a build with a lot of inspiration from Ninjah Tigah. Sorry I'm not yet able to post links but it's as follows from hardwareversand:

    Ram:
    8GB-Kit Crucial Ballistix Sport Series DDR3-1600, CL9

    PSU:
    Corsair VS Serie VS550, Non-Modular, 80+

    Motherboard:
    ASRock Z97 Pro4, Sockel 1150, ATX

    Graphics Card:
Club 3D Radeon R9 290 royalAce mit MANTLE und Gaming Evolved Client, 4GB
    GDDR5, 2x DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort

    HDD:
    Seagate Barracuda 7200 1000GB, SATA 6Gb/s

    Drive:
    Samsung SH-224DB schwarz

    Case:
Zalman Z11 Plus HF1 mit Sichtfenster, ohne Netzteil

    SSD:
    Crucial MX100 SSD 128GB (2,5", 7mm)

    CPU:
    Intel Core i5-4460 in-a-Box

Will this all work together well?

If anyone has any good recommendations for monitors as well that would be greatly appreciated.

Besides then purchasing Windows is there anything else I need to purchase or know?

After doing a bit more research it seems like the graphics card won't fit into that case, so I've switched the case out for:

Nanoxia Deep Silence DS 3 Dark Black

I think this should be fine for it. Would I be able to get some opinions and to make sure this is all ok before I go ahead?

Banter don't think that PSU will work. It has 2 6 pin PCI express power connections. Pretty sure off the top of my head the 290 needs at least one six pin and one 8 pin I could be wrong. If I'm not the PSU be useless.

I did up a build keeping SSD to a crucial 120gb , ram the same. , HDD western digital blue 47.

Swapped your mobo for the asrock h97 anniversary edition. 67 Euro. "Z97 boards are for overclocking k CPUs."

    PSU be quiet l8 500w 55 euro.

Gpu nvidia gtx 970 ,320 Euro. (a lot less power consumption heat problems and quality brand) better card.

    I5 4460.

Keeping the case is a good one.

This came to just over 800. I think you will be really happy going with the gtx970 over the 290.

Thanks for the help Archer! They seem like some really good suggestions.

So would everything be compatible in this build:

    Ram:
    8GB-Kit Crucial Ballistix Sport Series DDR3-1600, CL9

    PSU:
be quiet! Pure Power L8 CM 530W

    Motherboard:
    ASRock H97 Anniversary

    Graphics Card:
    Zotac GeForce GTX 970, 4GB DDR5

    HDD:
    WD Blue 1TB 6Gb's

    Drive:
    Samsung SH-224DB schwarz

    Case:
Nanoxia Deep Silence One Dark Black

    SSD:
    Crucial MX100 SSD 128GB (2,5", 7mm)

    CPU:
    Intel Core i5-4460 in-a-Box

Hardwareversand don't have the be quiet l8 500w so I'm including the be quiet! Pure Power L8 CM 530W instead. I'm assuming this won't cause any issues?

There is also a good few gtx 970s so I included the Zotac GeForce GTX 970.

Should this all work now? I don't want to miss something like PSU not fitting, and there might be a thing or two like that which I wouldn't know to look for.

Besides this and Windows, a monitor, mouse, keyboard and speakers, is there anything else I need, even such as cables? Will I need any sound cards or a card to connect to the wifi?

Was mildly hungover yesterday and posting from phone so left some details out. Let me be more specific.

Post your prices you are paying. Make sure to use "Geizhals.de discount site " associated with Hardwareversand.de . This will reduce cost of build.

Graphics card- the Gigabyte gtx 970 . Price is 320 Euro. cooling /noise / performance/price. it can't be beaten.

PSU- be quiet system power 600w silver rated. 64 Euro( almost same price as the 530 w)

If you can afford it get the Asus h97 plus motherboard. 85 Euro. But firstly let me see how your budget is so far and what current costs are at.

    Samsung SH-224DB schwarz - €11.89
    Crucial MX100 SSD 128GB - €59.61
    ASRock H97 Anniversary, Sockel 1150, ATX - € 70.67
    be quiet! SYSTEM POWER 7 600W - €64.22
    WD Blue 1TB 6Gb's - €47.57
    8GB-Kit Crucial Ballistix Sport Series DDR3-1600, CL9 - €62.98
Nanoxia Deep Silence DS 3 Dark Black - €64.89

    Intel Core i5-4460 in-a-Box - €160.50
    Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 G1 Gaming, 4GB GDDR5 - €359.90

    Total = €902.23

It's a bit over the budget that I had planned but if it gives me a good pc I'm ok with that. With the GPU I'm unsure if you mean the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 WindForce 3X which is €320, or the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 G1 Gaming which is €360. Unfortunately there is a problem that both of them have a delivery date unknown but Amazon.co.uk have a Gigabyte GTX 970 Graphics Card for €360, which I believe is the Windforce and the Gigabyte NVIDIA GTX 970 Gaming Graphics Card for €360.

The i5 4460 is also delivery date unknown and I have no idea how often they get these in on hardwareversand or I could just go with something like the i5 4440.

If using amazon try get from amazon not a seller on amazon. Good news is amazon Free delivery also have much better customer care than hwvs.

Can get the I5 4460 on amazon for 164 Euro.

The gigabyte gtx 970 can be got on overclokers.co.uk

The difference between the gtx 970 windforce and g1 are this. The g1 has higher out of the box speeds, a backplate on the graphics card and only the best chips get used in the g1 versions.

This is just so you are informed. Windforce or g1 you will be gaming on very high/ ultra at 1080p so if you can't stretch the budget is no real need.

Banter, you can stick to your original build with the 290 using the new PSU and mobo. Will keep your budget in check and closer to your original 800 budget.

    Hi,

I've been a bit busy and haven't gotten around to ordering the parts yet but I will be later on tonight!

I'm going to go with this build:

ASRock H97 Anniversary, Sockel 1150, ATX
    WD Blue 1TB 6Gb's
    8GB-Kit Crucial Ballistix Sport Series DDR3-1600, CL9
    Samsung SH-224DB schwarz
    Crucial MX100 SSD 128GB (2,5", 7mm)
    Intel Core i5-4460 in-a-Box
    be quiet! SYSTEM POWER 7 600W - bulk -
    EVGA GeForce GTX 970 ACX 2.0, 4GB GDDR5, 2x DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort
Corsair Carbide Series 200R, ATX, ohne Netzteil

Does anyone see any problems with this? I'm pretty sure it's all compatible and well balanced. It comes out at just under €850. Hopefully I'll have it delivered, and all up and running in a couple of weeks, I'll keep this updated!

I ordered basically the same build last friday. Only difference is the PSU. Hopefully it will arrive tomorrow. So excited!!!

Because the peripherals I'm using at the moment are just the standard Dell setup from the stone age I want to get a complete set up to match the pc I'll be building. I've ordered a Logitech G502 Proteus Core Tunable Gaming Mouse and SteelSeries QcK Gaming Mouse Pad already.

For a monitor I'm looking at the BenQ RL2455HM 24" for ~€170. Would this be the best choice for that kind of price? The reviews for it seem mostly positive but I've also heard IPS monitors tend to be better and the BenQ RL2455HM 24" is a TN.

I also need to get a keyboard if anyone has any recommendations.
