My solicitor has sent to Revenue a cheque from a a sale of a house to Revenue for capital gains I owe from the sale. I rang them up to chase it because he is so slow with handing over money (16 weeks) and they said they put a stop on the cheque. I got cut off and rang back but didn't get through.

Does anyone know what this means?

The Revenue and Government do not accept cheques as of Sept 2014.
Best to ring them and your solicitor and get an accoun t set up for payment
