Can anyone recommend a small discrete outdoor cctv camera, that operates over CAT5?

For simple monitoring of front and back entrance of a domestic house, I might record at a later date if justified but don't need facility that straight away.

Any IP camera will do this. If you are positioning outside make sure the IP rating is correct.

Anyone recommend a good affordable IP camera with good night vision also? Don't need to use it for recording just yet.

Does not have to be an IP camera. You can use a balun and have 4 cameras on a cat5 cable back to a recorder.
