    You will need to either unlock your DVD player or laptop or get a multi region DVD player, standard DVD players over here only play region 2, 4 or 0.

    You can pick up a multi region player cheap as chips nowadays.

    Hacking a DVD player is usually quite easy, too, and as far as I'm aware, legal (Look that up, though). You might be able to find a how-to for your model online.

    Check your player model on google, some can be hacked easily to play all regions. I know the Pioneer model I have can because I have a load of Region 1's, some Region 4's and a couple of region 3's.

    Your TV should be able to handle NTSC.
