Domestic Refuse Waiver Scheme – Waterford City Area. Please look at the website for further information.

    Date: 21 Nov 2014

Following a review of the operation of the Waiver Scheme, the Council has regrettably decided to end the Waiver Scheme with effect from next February when the current four year contract with Oxigen comes to a conclusion.
With effect from February 24th 2015, the Waiver Scheme which the Council provides through Oxigen Environmental will cease.
What does this mean for customers of the service
    • For the remainder of 2014, the current arrangements will remain as they are
    • For the final period of the Waiver Scheme contract (January 1st to February 24th2015), the Council will pay Oxigen for a credit to be applied to your Oxigen customer account. The credit will be a pro rata sum to cover the Waiver Scheme for the 8 week period to February 24th and will be to the value of approximately €22 - €25 per household.
    • Oxigen Environmental will write to you shortly confirming the amount of this credit and arrangements for payment of your own contribution for this period.
    • After February 24th, the Council will no longer provide any form of waiver support and you will need to make arrangements for the continuation of your refuse collection service from either Oxigen or one of the other licensed Waste Collectors in the area.
The Council will be writing to all Domestic Refuse Waiver customers within the next week with further details.
