Been thinking about getting a 13" Macbook Air recently and just heard that Harvey Norman are offering an €80 discount for Black Friday, works out at €950.

Was planning on getting one after Christmas but thinking it might be worth just buying it now for that price..just wanted to ask here if anyone knows of a place selling them for any less?

Also, does anyone know if they are they due to be replaced by a new improved model any time soon?

    Any advice appreciated.

Depends on what you consider a better model

There's the pro with a faster processor.

What do you want the mac for?
For the same money you could get quad core and decent GPU from pcspecialist.co.uk.

That's not all that matters in a laptop.

It's also obvious what he means by a better model. OP check here to find that out.

    =.=

I was just pointing out the hardware differences, he's paying more for brand and an awkward OS.

Note that other laptops also come with HDMI ports, where as mac, needs an adapter.
Software compatibility can be hassle with macs
Macs tend to be the last or forgotten when it comes to gaming.

And even the professional side...windows is more than capable.

There are windows laptops with the same look as a mac, same hardware, and cheaper.

    ___
the one pro for macs, I will agree on, is their battery life is excellent and their batteries seem to take more charges and last longer.
    ___

I did ask why he wanted a mac.
Most people want macs because they assume they're "better than PC's", without taking into account, that clearly a 1500€ laptop is going to better than a €300 one. I don't know if the OP is considering that or not, so I assumed he wasn't.
