07 Corolla Tail light problems

Hope that this is the correct forum to ask this.

I have a 2007 Toyota corolla. Recently discovered that the tail light wasn't working when I had the lights on. Did the usual - replaced bulb and fuse and still not working.
Yet, the funny thing is the brake light (same bulb) illuminates when pedal is depressed.

I'm going mad looking for wiring diagrams online in order to try and trace the cable run to see if that's it.
It has me flabbergasted. Would anybody have any idea of what's going on?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using the correct bulb? Should have two contacts on the bottom and two elements.

Also, there should be two separate contacts on the bottom of the bulb holder. One for the normal light and one for the brake light. The one for the normal light might not be making contact with the bulb and will need to be bent back into place with a needle nose pliers if that makes sense. If there an option to disconnect the holder from the wiring loom do that. If not disconnect the battery.

Maybe the connection is a bit corroded. Give it a scratch with some sandpaper and give it a dart of WD40. My front left fog was like that and it worked a treat.

Many thanks, I'll try that. I have the original bulb back in place (wasn't blown).
