    Hi

Im staying with a mate near Marley park for the weekend and am looking for some suggestions for a 10 - 12m route in the Dublin or Wicklow Mts.

I have done a lot of trail running but generally on river or forest tracks - rarely at any height. I have hiked in Wicklow many times so have good basic mountain awareness.

I just don't want to end up overestimating my ability and finding myself on top of something(ie a mountain!!) knackered and freezing and walking home.

Im thinking something like Kevins way from Glendalough up to the Wicklow gap - but Ive walked it a few times already and wouldn't mind somewhere new?
What are the mountain meitheal trails like to run?
    thanks

    r

This website details some trails in the dublin mountains that you might like to take on. it gives directions to starting points, route maps, tells you the level of difficulty etc.

think I followed this route - went about 5.5miles out and just came back as light was fading and didn't want to risk going further on the mountain - went about a mile beyond the split between the DMW and the WW - think I was following your route anyway - it was all on the WW?
once I got off the roads and the coillte tracks I really loved the more mountainy bit of the WW - defo want to spend more time off road and get up into the mountains, such a buzz,,
    thanks for suggestions
