    Hi Everyone,

I am getting a gift for an aviation enthusiast for Christmas. My budget is €100-150. Just wondering if any of you have any suggestions of anything interesting?

    Thanks,
    Stephen

Flying lesson, 30 min would cost about €100.

    Where is your nearest airport?

A few friends chipped in and bought me this recently for my 30th

It's an absolute beaut. Solid, heavy, quality watch, impressive at that price too.

be careful with the flying lessons, they are highly infectious, and if the poor fella will catch the flying bug, he/she'll be out of money in no time :)

does the enthusiast do virtual flying? a controller could be a good gift, there could never be enough gadgets in one's "virtual" cockpit

I think it would be useful to keep this thread going - as the big day gets closer it might be useful for others as well..

came across this recently - http://www.lego.com/en-us/technic/products/new/42025-cargo-plane/ ... eh if only I had kids

ohh, and lets not forget about remote controlled drones! should be on every av-geek wishlist

I have to say as an aviation enthusiast I would have zero interest in an airbus watch. I'd even go as far as to say it's even a bit sad, kinda like a Ford Fiesta driver wearing a Ferrari watch.

For the true aviation enthusiast the 1 hour flights are spectacular value. As someone else suggested the only danger is getting addicted.

    You could go to the Irish Aviation Fair that is on tomorrow, you might get some ideas there;

The Aviation Fair will take place tomorrow, Sunday
November 30th at 10am in the Carlton Airport Hotel, which is next to
    QuickPark, Dublin Airport.
All are welcome, entrance is FREE.

Also there will be a free raffle, tickets are available from 10am till noon.
The prize is "60 min Boeing 737 – 800 NG Flight Simulator Experience"
courtesy of Atlantic Air Venture in Shannon.

In fairness it's a long way off from the Ferrari (head to toe in red) brigade, it's a nice simple watch, with Airbus on it. Some people like that, and doesn't cost too much. I think its a nice present but I suppose it all depends on what level enthusiast your buying for.

1 hour flights win hands down but the watch would be a great present to hand someone.

well what are you supposed to do if you want a car related watch but they don't make one for Fiesta :D

my only worry here is that for a 99 eur price tag one could wish for a bit more bells and whistles.. by adding a few bob you can get yourself a Suunto which will show you atm. pressure (and tendencies), work out an altitude, give you temperature, compass and so on..
