Transavia to launch Dublin to Orly

The low cost subsidiary of KLM/AF is to launch a Dublin - Orly route next summer. As this will have a huge impact on travellers to Paris (city), what do you think the impact will be on Cityjet? Is there enough connecting traffic through CDG to keep the route viable?

CityJet operate CDG on behalf of Air France 4 times a day. Transavia, owned by AF/KL, will fly to Orly daily at an awkward time. There may be a slight impact on Air France but CityJet shouldn't be affected.

How can one be impacted without the other ?

Because, I presume anyway, that CityJet are paid a predetermined price by Air France for DUB - CDG, so unless AF are planning a gradual transition from themselves to Transavia, CityJet will continue getting their dues.

Aha didn't think of it that way, thanks.

Plus I very much doubt that AF would consider removing Dublin as a destination at CDG, given that ORY has far less global reach. It would mean a lot less transfer pax!

I'm flying with Transavia to Orly next week.

Anyone fly with them before? Just wondering how they compare to other low cost carriers.

I only say that the Dutch parent company is long-established and now wholly owned by the Air France/KLM Group.

Nobody had any issue flying with Ryanair in the 90s on several airframes that came from Transavia.
