I have a old fiesta that I want to get rid of. I was told that if I drive it up to a scrapyard, they would pay me for it. Is this true and if so how much would i get for it? Any scrapyards in Dublin offering this service if its true?

Has it any tax or nct?

Done deal it or repair, list any faults honestly and set a price with some bargaining. You'll always her a call.

It's 98 reg missing mirrors, no nct or tax and no grill. To put it mildly, it's a heap of ****e. Would a scrapyard buy it.

Is it driving? Much rust on it?

It's driving and not overly rusty.

If you're getting rid of it as an end-of-life car (i.e. you being the last registered owner) you must use an authorised treatment facility.
They will issue you with a certificate of destruction which is your proof the car has been disposed of properly and legally.

Another option would be to sell/give the car to someone and let them do what they wish with it. Just make sure you have completed the normal transfer of ownership and send off the VLC so thtt the car is no longer registered to your name.

Chuck it up on done deal, probably get more for it there than a scrapyard

www.greenermetals.ie will collect it free of charge in the greater Dublin area.

Who is going to buy it without a grill mirrors nct or tax?

Who is going to buy it without a grill mirrors nct or tax?

Someone who has a similar car and needs an engine or other parts and willing to do the work needed to get one of the cars running on the cheap?

    It's a '98 Fiesta.

Yes a scrapyard will weigh it in and pay you scrap value of the metal. Probably between 60-100e depending on the yard and the current values of metal, it's a whole since iv brought anything to one.

unless you have a scrap yard next door or a brother in the towing business you're taking a risk driving with no tax, no nct, no mirrors and no grill.

Suppose if the car was seized by the Guards - problem solved!

Do you know anywhere in Dublin 12 or surrounding areas that will give me money for it. Might aswell get a few quid then give it away for nothing.

Seriously, put it on donedeal or gumtree. Someone will give you 100 or 150, very popular as field cars.

Why not call the scrapyards and ask?

Scrapyard took a car off me recently.
    They gave €100 for it.
I would have paid someone to take it away.
It was thrown there for over 10 years!

After I wrote off my 98 Almera I rang a few scrap yards, some told me they'd give me €60 and others told me there's a €50 charge for collecting an old car.

    **** that, says I.
Done deal, €200 (which I was not expecting) it was sold for €100 in a week and had loads of texts asking about parts if it hadn't went.

Someone will want it, DoneDeal is the answer.
