would love if there was a direct flight, even 3-4 times a week from mid march for patricks day and spring break until October. I booked flights there the other day E557 return with aer lingus and united airlines from Dublin. A mate was looking for flights, he lives in London, they were E800 there for the cheapest ones, despite the fact you can fly direct!!! Manchester fly direct with two airlines and this year Dublin will handle more passengers than Manchester, although the population of the greater manchester area is obviously substantially larger...

Or could an airline fly dublin to vegas and on to Lax?

The Aer Lingus Airbus 330 has the range (it already goes to San Francisco). There just isn't enough demand for Dub > LV, yet and adding a LV > LAX sector would be even less economic.

The UK have significant tax on long haul flights. Ireland has none.

As far as I know, you would often pay less if you flew DUB --> LHR --> LAS (booked as a single ticket) compared to LHR --> LAS (direct). I don't think all of the UK taxes apply if you are a connecting passenger. Therefore, you could pay less starting out in Ireland and connecting in the UK than someone starting in the UK even though you are essentially travelling further.

yeah flying from Dublin to vegas direct is significantly cheaper than flying from London direct, even if you route through London from Dublin.Flying there in March with Aer Lingus from Dub to San Fran and then United San Fran to Vegas. I dont like flying the back to London to come back this direction, then you have pre clearance here and you dont have to deal with Heathrow.

My mate was checking prices the other day and they could be gotten for E440 return in March from Dublin, dirt cheap considering the distance.
