Ali Express fraud

    Hi guys,

I made a purchase from Ali Express using my Visa Debit in October. Item arrived fine and as described a couple of weeks ago.

However, I've just noticed three purchases on my card for Ali Express that I didn't make from yesterday and today. I've rang the bank and cancelled the card and they'll have their fraud team looking into it. However, the guy on the phone's tone seemed to indicate because I said I had used the website previously I might not be in with a chance.

In the meantime, I've just noticed that AliExpress has a system whereby until you confirm you've received the goods the payment isn't made (it's my first time using it).

So from what I can see, my original legit payment has not gone through as I have not confirmed yet, but someone has used my details to make purchases on Ali Express.

So from the bank's perspective, I've told them I bought something (that hasn't paid out of my account yet) and there's been three other purchases since that are fraudulent on the same website.

I've to ring the bank (Bank of Ireland) in the morning to try and thrash this out - anyone have any experience of a similar situation? Is there any recourse for the fraudulent purchases?

I have been using my debit card on Aliexpress for years, and never had a problem.

You can do a chargeback with the bank if all comes to all

The payment will go through automatically after a certain amount of time if you don't confirm receipt of goods.

If you login to your account, does it show what the orders are that you've been charged for ?

Is it possible someone has accessed your account from a shared computer?

Been using aliexpress for years myself without a problem.

Just after a very distressing phone call with the bank. They're saying I need to take it up with Ali Express. I told them the only reason they know about Ali Express is because I've told them that I made an order last month - that order hasn't been charged yet. There were three charges the last three days made from Ali Express worth sizeable amounts of money and they let them go through. I'm stunned that noone at the bank flagged this and thought to contact me. Three big transactions on the same website in three days.

No, the orders are not in my ali account, I don't know where they're coming from. All that is there is the original order, which has not been paid yet.

I ordered it on my PC at home.

I'd be getting my PC checked for spyware.

I run Avast and Anti Malware Bytes weekly, not sure it's at that end. Given it says Ali Express on my statement, the money must have been taken from their end. Otherwise it's a very big coincidence that someone got hold of my card number and spent it in the same place.
