I was wondering is there any law or custom in place in relation to buying like few electronic cigarettes from china and then selling them off here.

Dont think so man, imagine some vendors would be doing something similar.

I guess what the only thing that might put you at risk would be tax avoidance in terms of duty on the imports (as, for example, Fasttech always try to help you bypass that by mislabelling and under declaring).
