Bigger package by courier?

I had a delivery through parcel motel last year of a table, it fold like an ironing board.

It was delivered to the local Nightline Office and I picked it up, I have now sold it on but no courier will deliver it. Nightline says Nightline NI have different size limits!

I asked what would happen if this was a return to retailer and she said they still would not be able to provide this service.

    The pack is 170 cm x 35cm x 10 cm and weight 5kg.(4.5 ft x 1 ft x 6 inches)

An post website said they will take, but the post office says no.

Anyone know anyone who will send this within Ireland?

Book through parcel2go. They offer Nightline, GLS and TNT even when you put in the size/weight.

170cm is almost 6ft - that's where the issue is - max size of any one dimension is 1.5m in most courier places.

    It was going to Dublin.

Exactly, 1.5m was the limit everywhere except An Post but the dimensional weight was too much there.

A Friend was going to Dublin and Irish Rail carried it for free! I offered to pay for it as a bike and have it stored but the inspector said no, just put it in the 'cabinet'

Great result. For future info. DPD take up to 3 meters , €25 for the 1st 10 kg to anywhere in Ireland. 100 kg is the max.

Thats brilliant, I cant remember if I called them. All knitting machines are that size so thats handy to know. God €25 is grand, it would have cost me €40 to drive to Dublin and back.
