QFA Qualification

Hi All, I am currently a very frustrated employee of a large fund administrator. I have been working there for 7 years (over two stints either side of travelling for a couple of years). I am 32 and feel like i need to get out now before its too late. I have done ok during my time here and earned a couple of promotions. However I have absolutely no desire to stay due to increasing workloads for little reward.

I have been doing a lot of research into the QFA exams and it looks like something id definitely be interested in. My question really is would the QFA be enough to get me a look in in terms of becoming a financial advisor or working in the area of mortgages/life assurance? Or is this just a basic qualification that would need further qualifications added to to get a look in in this industry?

I realise i would be starting at the bottom of the ladder and would need to take a considerable paycut but I am willing to accept that if it means getting off this dead end ladder that I have found myself stranded on!

Any advise on job prospects in the industry these days or further education required would be greatly appreciated. My primary degree is a BA in Accounting and HRM.

    Thanks

    R82
