Bus Éireann lost and found

    Hi guys,

So I recently travelled from Cork to Dublin on a Bus Eireann bus and just after getting off the bus at O' Connell bridge I realised I didn't have my purse. Now I am 100 percent sure the purse fell under the seat as a man came on and sat next to and I just shoved my bad and it fell over. So I ran down to Busaras once I realised the purse was still on the bus in the hope the bus would still be there, that was the last stop. Unfortunately when I got there one of the staff told me the bus was already gone to the depot for the night but to ring the lost and found the next day and they will have it as the buses are cleaned every night. I did this but was told nothing was handed in, I tried again the next day but nothing. Now I just can't understand how it wasn't found, I really don't think it was stolen by another passenger as it wouldn't have been obviously visible under the seat. There was at least 80 euro in the purse along with all my cards so obviously I'm really annoyed about not getting it back.

As you presume your bag was open (if the purse was able to fall out of it) then perhaps someone else noticed this and stole your purse from your bag?
You are supposing it was still on the bus and not stolen, you don't know for certain. Perhaps the cleaner or driver stole it, perhaps it's still on the bus, I'm not sure how thorough a job the cleaning staff do but it could still be there, did you tell them the bus you were on?

Yeah I just really feel like it wasn't stolen but I guess I can't be sure. I feel like it may have been taken by a cleaner after and yeah they knew exactly which bus it was. I guess I'll just have to accept it's gone at this stage, it's just ****ty that if someone did find it they would keep it for themselves and not hand it back.

Well just a few things I hope may help.
Like other people point out you can not be sure, but Busaras is not the final stop on the service its the airport.(X8 and GOBE) Sadly giving more time for it to be spotted by the wrong people.
My idea is based on it being X8, my suggestion is to contact BE customer care with all the details and ask them to look into it, but also push for cctv to be viewed as it covers all areas on all buses from 2008.
A driver friend things its great as it proves it can not be the driver who took it, and very often it can dis-spell suggestions of same made by people. I wish you the very best of luck as it it not just the cash but all the cards and cancelling and time it takes.
It happen to be with a supervalu card and some one had a great shop on me!

Ok I didn't realise it went all the way to the airport, the Bus Eireann worker I met at the station told me it was gone to the depot but he must have been wrong. Yeah some other passenger may have come across it then and taken it.
I did contact the customer care at Bus Eireann and was told they checked with the garage and inspectors office but nothing was handed in. I might try and see if they could look at the CCTV for me just to check.
Thanks for that, it is the hassle of getting all the different cards replaced that's the worst. I'm a student too and lost money really doesn't help the financial situation at the moment either!
