Not at present however next year there is supposed to be a tams for agri development coming out. I presume things like Meal bins, slat mats as well as sheds, tanks and everything else will be on it. I imagine that it will be timed so taht it effect will be felt towards possible election date in late 2015 early 2016. This would mean that they will need to start it early in the yaer.

I think they are limiting spend on present grant to 80K of work/farmer. What this will mean that if you draw 15K in funding for farm safety you will be limited to 65K in next scheme and other schemes through out present CAP scheme which ends in 2019.

Got a bin done last time it was available. After VAT back and collecting Grant I got an 11 ton split bin for 2.5K. However if doing again I go for two smaller bins as present one is too high if you need to do anuthing with it. I hope the top bin never blocks. Did mats on slats and 16' slats cost about 600/pen.

If you can do a bit all the time it amazing how you can develop your set up over the years. When you have deprecation allowances set up( I know lakhill you prefer to refer to as Capital Allowances) and keep them balanced year after year in effect you have the tax benifit up front. on smaller projects.

Tax benifits on larger project are a different matter.

What's the best value for a bin between 8 and 10ton? I priced up an 8ton before, best price 1800+vat.

I think Spirofeeds in Mallow is one of the cheapest. 1800+vat seems to be a very good price for a 8 ton. Grant ones will have to be painted to shed colour so this uses up part of the grant however strictly speaking you need planning and most councils are now insisting on bins being painted if visible I think. Bins vary in size and we should go by cubic capacity rather than stated tonnage as all suppliers over state tonnage capacity but some really take the micky. As far as I know a 5 ton basic bin is the most of the price you state for an 8 ton.

NI suppliers are often very compeditive compared to southern ones so you could price up there as well. If you have room in a shed you could put in one of the fabric ones which are very cheap.

Useful info on there FP, I'm actually flipping a coin between getting a meal bin or using the existing loaf for meal, you got any more information on the indoor bags? I'd get away with 6ton, once I can connect an augur system to the bottom of it. I was actually thinking of creating a basic timber meal box inside in the current loaf, however I'd prb sink the guts of a grand into it between labour and sealing it, meal bin starts to make sense then.
