    A waste of electricity.

There are PVRs, in the unlikely event you want to watch something you missed on TV3

Not so much as a press release. Surely if they intend to launch Monday we will hear something tommorow.

@ OP I'd say TV 3 have bigger fish to fry right now, so possibly unlikely.

Why is it so hard for someone on boards, just to answer a question without trying to be smart. Maybe the OP likes Tv3? You don't like it - fair enough, you seem proud of that fact, good for you. Create a club! You cool kids.

TV3 +1 goes live on UPC from Midnight tonight with an official launch next week.

EPG Number 119. EPG data will not be available immediately.

Differing opinions are not allowed? Message boards would be rather useless if that was the case.

Not liking something has nothing to do with being "cool". Trying to put down peoples opinions with nonsense like that says more for your mindset than anyone elses.

Telling someone to get a PVR or "please god no" is just being smart and has nothing to do with the question being asked. I believe on boards you are supposed to stay on topic?

Do you believe those posts contribute to the question asked?

And, how can you insult my "mindset" when you yourself apparently frown upon "Trying to put down peoples opinions"

Play the ball not the man please, and no back seat moderating.

    Back on topic please.

Well it's live. Noticed a +1 on the top right but DOG still on the lower right. However on TV3 at midnight they've moved the DOG to top right - so by 1am it should be fine on +1.

Switched on at midnight, interesting to see if others eg RTE and UTV Ireland will follow suit with an 'off air' +1 service

Completely off topic, but that's a great link there, that Kurn provided - never seen it before.
There seemed to have been a big peak in Irish TV viewing around 2006. Can't think of anything that was that major in that year for those figures to be so high.

UTV had a dramatic fall going from 10.2% to 3% in 11 years - most likely to do with TV3 showing most of their popular shows. But it's also the same for Channel 4, BBC1 & 2 with big falls - all to do with so many people going to Sky and UPC and taking advantage of more choice.

Sky 1 have had a massive fall too over the years.

For the UK see here - only goes up to 2012 though. But huge decrease for ITV over the years, while BBC and Channel 4 and Channel 5 remained steady enough.

Anyone else notice that the audio is distorted on TV3+1.

They can't get the audio right on normal TV3, so I can't imagine the +1 service being any better!

So, has TV 3 moved their DOG to the top right now to match RTÉ's?

Any screen-grabs of the +1 channel?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,099 ✭✭✭iseegirls

Yep it's at the top right from when I saw it last night. Looks a lot bigger than the normal logo, but maybe the +1 made it look a lot wider and larger

Is the DOG brighter now as well or is that your TV settings?

I see 3e's DOG has moved too. Wonder what the reason is for the move now? It's been the bottom corner since they launched hasn't it? Or perhaps it was on the botom left first?

Well, to match everyone else really. TV3 having their DOG at the bottom right was very unusual in Ireland/UK terms (though BT Sport do it too, and Setanta when showing ice hockey) and a legacy of their original look. Of course, its fairly common in the States.

This might be a bit clearer
