85 year old evicted in Spain

I just came across this story being reported across various news outlets today. A 85 year old woman was evicted from her apartment that she has lived in over the past 5O years because of a €70,000 debt her son owes. Absolutely heartless imo and I would like to think someone at that age wouldn't be turfed out on the street here.

Alls well that ends well and Rayo Vallecano have stepped in and said they will pay it off for the rest of her life.

The sons a bollix too for guaranteeing the house against a bank loan without telling his mother.

From another article it said ownership of the home was transferred to the son from her husband his death. The son went and took out a loan against the house seemingly without her knowing. Still common sense should come into things and the authorities should have let her be and repossess in a few years when she kicks the bucket.

so he took a loan against his own asset?
rather than realising the asset and using the money
he's not a bollix he was trying to use his own house and yet still let his mother live there
probably got caught by the down turn in spain
