Yet another Tablet recommendation thread

So guys, sorry for possibly another repeating thread on tablets.

My son wants a tablet for Christmas, I've been looking at this one

    http://www.ebay.ie/itm/10-1-Inch-A31S-Google-Android-4-4-2-KITKAT-Quad-Core-Tablet-PC-Keyboard-Bundle-/191204873062?pt=UK_iPad_Tablets_eReaders&hash=item2c84b2d366

Quad Core 1.5 GHZ processor, 1GB DDR3 Ram, all the normal bells and whistles, for about €85 plus postage.

I understand it doesn't compare to the Nexus etc. but this is for an 8 yr old, watching movies, videos on youtube, simple games from the play store etc, not too bothered about quality of cameras, just want to know if anyone has experience of these unbranded tablets with this sort of spec, will they perform adequately for what an 8 yr old might want it for?

Any alternatives in this price range? €100 quid is really my upper level I'm afraid.

I have never owned an unbranded tablet so I cant really compare, but looking at the specs on that tablet I would say its really good value for the price, considering its for an 8 yr old, personally I would see no reason not to buy it. remember, its a 16 gb tablet,so in reality there will only be about 13 gb or so after you take into account the space taken up by the os. its a great price and you could pick up a 16 gb sd card for a tenner or thereabouts.

Cheers droidman, I see what you're saying about the 16gb space, but even at that he won't fill it too quick, and I'll hunt about for an sd card.

As long as it'll do everything he wants it to, the camera etc. will be a bit of a gimmick, if previous experience is anything to go by it'll be pics of half his face and the ceiling!

If you do decide to go ahead and get it, let us know on here how you get on with it.
