Does a gas fire need servicing?

    Hi,

I get the gas boiler serviced every year...from a safety and efficiency point of view this seems to be the thing to do.

Does a gas fire also need to be serviced and if so, how often? It's ten years old and the room it's in has a carbon monoxide alarm installed in it.

    Thanks

Yes, annually, safety is even more critical than the boiler.
