In preparation for a self build renovation and extension job We are trying to clear the site of between 80 and 140 ton of material some of which is good quality topsoil with the remainder being made up of subsoil and rubble from demolition.
we have sought quotes for this job but they are slow coming back or not coming back at all. Site access is an issue as everything would need to enter and exit through a roadside through and through garage with internal measurements of 2188mm in height and 2224mm in width. We do have some careful wiggle room to excavate down if we need a wee bit more clearance height wise.
    I am wondering the following:
1: Is there anybody in the Limerick area licenced to do this work who would be willing to provide us with a quote?
2: We have considered the DIY route and would be used to hiring and driving construction machinery does anybody have any advice on how to proceed, where we can legally take this material to to dispose of it in a responsible manner.

Any advice would be very welcome.

What is the contract value of the Reno & extension?

Have you considered just knocking/taking the roof of the garage?

Can the soil be kept on site until your finished?

<snip>Technically this stuff has to be disposed of in a licenced landfill.

To transport material in any way requires a permit and all material must be disposed in accordance with the Waste management acts 1996 to 2008. Boards is not a place to discuss possible was around legislation. Read the forum charter

    Apologies!
I was in no way looking for qick fix illegal ways of getting rid of our top-soil and site waste rather was hoping for comment and other people's experience in this matter prehaps a good contact of a legally lisenced contractor, landscaper ect. I am fully aware of the Waste Management act..... and as a Horticulturalist really do care for the environment so would not be interested in illegally dumping ect thanks for the warning though.

Thanks for your thoughts on this we had also thought about taking off the garage roof,We don't own the garage but have kindly been granted access through as the garage which belongs to my in laws who live next door to our site. We do hope to retain some of the topsoil but the site is very small and we will require the room during the build.
