Changing window to door & existing alarm

We currently have a ground floor window that is connected up to our alarm system. We're about to get this window replaced with a double door installed in its place (i.e wall below window being broken out) & was wondering what's involved in (a) the window being removed (with the alarm sensors attached) and the impact on the existing alarm system (i.e will the alrm still set with the sensors removed? & (b) getting the door added to the alarm system in place of the window? Is this a big deal or a simple enough procedure?

    Any help greatly appreciated.

No it is not a big deal, are you planning on getting your alarm company to do or are you going to tackle it?

It is just important that it is done correctly as if alarm units are removed and not dealt with properly then you will not be able to operate your system.

I had intended to get an alarm specialist/installer in to do it, wouldn't dream of doing it myself.

Any idea of the time / ost involved in doing something like this?

Anyone recommend an alarm engineer / technician who could look after something like this?

Any on the PSA register linked to would do this for you. As always shop around. Call out and labour charges vary a lot. Also ensure you agree a price first so there are no nasty surprises.
