The heater in my car is not working , im not sure how much this would cost to get fixed .With the weather to surely get colder it's going to take ages to not only thaw the ice but also de mystify my windscreen , are there any portable options ?

It's probably easier to get it fixed. Heater rad could be clogged up - a good flush will sort it.

It's probably just the thermostat that's stuck open - a cheap fix. Get it done if it is, as the car will suffer from poorer fuel economy so it's costing you money, if the engine is running cool / cold.

Is it not blowing at all, or is it only blowing cold? If it's only blowing cold, you might just need to top up your coolant. Running the engine with the coolant low is likely to eventually cost a lot more than getting the heater fixed!
