Despite not being able to move in the shed and house for bikes and bike stuff, I realised last week when cycling to school with the kids that I actually don't have a bike suitable for the job at all. Anything really would do, anything mudguardable and cheap. A fixie or at least single speed would be perfect. Thing is there are an awful lot of sh1t and far-too-hipster-for-me-looking fixies for sale. I'd rather something less garish and functional.

Anyone any pointers? I see stuff like the charge plug on wiggle and there are some funky 29er single speed "city bikes" on chainreaction too. I imagine they'd be fine. A second hand one would be perfect but adverters seem to think that their charge plugs appreciate in value with time and miles

Any other suggestions? Bricks and mortar places (Dublin) as well as online please :)
