Hi. 05 BMW 318D acting up a few times in the last week when cold starting in the morning. It starts fine, but will cut out after 5-10 seconds. Then will be difficult to start for maybe 2 minutes, either completely dead or trying to turn over and failing to start. Eventually, will start and motor away happily all day. The battery would be old, I was going to replace it but the fact that it starts first and then cuts out has me puzzled. Any advice appreciated.
