PVC Door Handle turning 360 degrees ..

The handle on opening side of my Munster Joinery french door is turning 360 degrees. Going to bed last night, I pressed hard on the handle after locking it with the key. As I pushed it down, I heard a something snap. Oops .. wasn't the first time I'd pressed it down to check it ... I was an ejit.

Anyhow, took the handle off this morning. Can't see anything so I'm assuming it's something inside the strip lock.

What are my options? Please tell me out can be just drilled by a locksmith or door fitter. I'm raging. I've two relatively new euro cylinders on the doors ... I'm hoping they won't need to come out in the process.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

hi massy086, it is locked with all the points inc upper and lower bolts engaged. Opening the other door doesn't budge the door with the handle broke.

Munster Joinery guy arrived tonight to take a look. Don't think he had come across it much. He's going to try to prise the bottom bolt upwards from the inside. Apparently, this will force all other points to disengage and then we can unlock with the key. Worth a try I suppose provided the inside frame isn't wrecked.

make sure he de-glazes the door first otherwise he could break the dg unit.the last one i done for my customer i de-Glazed the door and removed the euro cylinder and unlocked it and then i lifted the door from its hinge .and that got the door open.there should be no damage to the door if done carefully .have muster joinery givin you a idea of the cost for all this and to replace the espag lock that is broken in your door???

MJ guy got it opened and replaced the lock as he proposed so I'm happy ... and so too will be the cat - he was very put out being shoved out the window. I wasn't at home but I don't think he deglazed it. If he had broken it, I wouldn't have expected them to replace the glazing unit. He didn't need to do anything to the euro cylinders.
